Infinite Forms

December 22nd 2023 – February 26th 2024

The art featured in this exhibition draws us into the complex landscapes of human experience, guiding us through the intricate paths and struggles that shape our understanding of self. From the initial moments of self-awareness to the relentless pursuit of self-acceptance, the human journey unfolds in a constantly shifting array of forms. Bodies, with their diverse contours, reflect the intricate stories etched into our minds. Each curve, line, and mark bears witness to the multitude of challenges, victories, and transformations encountered on our individual path

Ioana Tocoaie’s work transports us to surreal realms where the boundaries of identity are pushed to extremes. In these worlds, anatomical distortions, bizarre juxtapositions of images, and sensational events dominate. Ioana’s creations stand as a testament to the boundless manifestations that identity can adopt, transcending the ordinary and delving into the extraordinary. The mirrored figures within her artworks evoke a sense of detached aestheticism, encouraging viewers to ponder the limitless potential of identity.

The allure of Aleksandar Stoicovici’s collages lies not only in their visual opulence but also in their ability to prompt introspection. They encourage us to explore the intricate intersections of identity, where seemingly unrelated pieces come together to form a new, unified whole. The fragmented, torn, and rearranged elements mirror our own journey of self-discovery, where deconstruction is sometimes necessary to rebuild and reshape our perceptions of self.

The exploration of profound singularity is an artistic endeavor to reconstruct a realm of personal understanding. Here, Taisia Corbuț engages with her own introspective experiences, utilizing bas-relief as a medium to convey the nuanced journey from isolation to integration, echoing the ever-changing nature of human identity.

Anastasia Dumitrescu’s approach is a compelling fusion of theory and creative expression, unveiling the ongoing correspondence between our surroundings and our evolving identities. She encourages us to perceive the environment not as a static data repository but as a dynamic realm of study, where meaning emerges from our active engagements and mutual evolution with the world. Her images serve as records of these encounters, capturing the visual morphology of inner cohabitation and interactions with the environment.

For Manon Hillereau, the patterns etched into the glass aren’t mere aesthetic designs but a reflection of the core of human existence. They reveal the mysterious intricacies of our being, acknowledging the physical and emotional vulnerabilities that shape our identities. Her work encapsulates the essence of “Infinite Forms,” prompting contemplation of the layers and patterns constituting our human experience.

Marta Mattioli pushes boundaries and deconstructs belief systems, offering answers to the profound questions defining our tumultuous times. Importantly, she does so without further alienation but instead provides a glimpse into the incomprehensible reality surrounding us, allowing us to grasp, if only momentarily, the myriad forms that identity can adopt.

This exhibition challenges us to confront our intricate pathways and obstacles, to contemplate the diverse forms that identity can embody, and to acknowledge the resilience of the human spirit. “Infinite Forms” serves as a reminder that our identities are as boundless and diverse as the human experience itself. It explores the ongoing quest to embrace our limitless manifestations, both physical and psychological, and to recognize the beauty within the journey.
